Description

TB-500 10mg from Certified Peptides is 10mg of TB-500 in a sealed glass vial. TB-500 is a 43-amino-acid actin-binding protein. It’s for in-vitro and lab research only.

About TB-500 (thymosin beta-4)

TB-500 here means thymosin beta-4, a 43-amino-acid protein found in nearly every cell in the body, with high levels in platelets and white blood cells. Inside the cell it binds actin, the protein cells use to change shape and move.

The TB-500 we sell is the full-length 43-residue sequence, acetylated at the N-terminus like the natural protein. It isn’t an approved medicine, and it’s on the WADA prohibited list.

How TB-500 acts in the lab

Thymosin beta-4’s main job is holding on to G-actin, the single building blocks of the cell’s internal scaffolding. By controlling how much actin is free to polymerize, it controls how cells move and change shape.

Cell movement is the first step in repair, which is the link to the wound healing and blood vessel studies. The actin-binding work is done by a short stretch of the chain, LKKTETQ, at positions 17 to 23.

Published TB-500 studies

Goldstein and colleagues reviewed thymosin beta-4’s role in wound repair in 2012, covering faster closure of skin wounds and new blood vessel growth in animal models.

Bock-Marquette and colleagues reported in Nature (2004) that thymosin beta-4 improved heart cell survival after injury in mice.

TB-500 10mg vs related compounds

Here’s how TB-500 10mg fits among related compounds. TB-500 is the 43-amino-acid actin-binding protein, studied for cell movement and wound repair. By comparison:

  • BPC-157 is the 15-amino-acid repair peptide with the largest body of rodent research
  • KPV is a three-amino-acid alpha-MSH fragment studied for calming inflammation
  • ARA-290 is an 11-amino-acid peptide from erythropoietin that protects tissue without raising red cells
  • GHK-Cu is the copper-binding tripeptide studied for collagen and skin repair

These are the main peptides in repair research. Each covers a different step, from blood vessel growth and cell movement to calming inflammation and rebuilding the skin matrix. See them all on our healing and recovery peptides page.

How TB-500 10mg is tested

Every batch of TB-500 10mg is made in the USA and checked by an independent U.S. lab for three things: that it’s the right compound, that the amount matches the label and that purity is 99% or better by HPLC.

You don’t have to take our word for it. The certificate of analysis for the current batch is in the image gallery at the top of this page, next to the product photo, and it shows the test date and the results.

On top of purity, each batch is screened for endotoxins, heavy metals and sterility. For cell culture work that screen is often the more important number.

Reconstituting TB-500 10mg

The amount of liquid you add sets the concentration. For a vial holding 10mg:

  • 1mL of bacteriostatic water gives 10mg/mL
  • 2mL of bacteriostatic water gives 5mg/mL
  • 3mL of bacteriostatic water gives 3.33mg/mL

Choose the volume that suits your measurements. Mark the vial with the concentration and date so nobody has to guess later. The vial itself holds 3mL, so that’s the upper limit.

Bacteriostatic water is the usual choice. Add it slowly so it runs down the side of the vial, then swirl or roll until everything dissolves. Shaking can shear peptide chains. Skip it.

Storing TB-500 10mg

Store sealed vials of TB-500 10mg in the freezer (-20°C) or the fridge (2 to 8°C), out of direct light. Mixed solution goes back in the fridge and should be used within about 28 days.

A 6 vial container keeps open and sealed vials upright and apart, which makes the fridge a lot easier to manage. For a bigger collection, the Big Everything Box holds vials and supplies in one latching case.
