Description

KPV 10mg from Certified Peptides is 10mg of KPV in a sealed glass vial. KPV is an alpha-MSH derived tripeptide. It’s sold for laboratory research only.

About KPV

KPV is the tripeptide lysine-proline-valine, the C-terminal end of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone. It keeps alpha-MSH’s anti-inflammatory activity without the pigment effects.

It’s small enough to be taken up by gut cells through the PepT1 transporter, which is why it’s studied in models of gut inflammation.

KPV mechanism of action

Alpha-MSH calms inflammation through melanocortin receptors. KPV is its last three amino acids and keeps much of that anti-inflammatory activity.

Inside cells it lowers NF-kappaB signaling, the switch for many inflammatory genes. Gut cells take it up through the PepT1 transporter, which is why colitis models are where most of the work is.

KPV research

Dalmasso and colleagues reported in Gastroenterology (2008) that KPV reduced inflammation in mouse colitis models and was taken up through PepT1.

Laroui and colleagues later packaged KPV in nanoparticles and saw similar effects in mice.

KPV compared with similar compounds

Here’s how KPV 10mg fits among related compounds. KPV is a three-amino-acid alpha-MSH fragment studied for calming inflammation. By comparison:

  • BPC-157 is the 15-amino-acid repair peptide with the largest body of rodent research
  • TB-500 is the 43-amino-acid actin-binding protein, studied for cell movement and wound repair
  • ARA-290 is an 11-amino-acid peptide from erythropoietin that protects tissue without raising red cells
  • GHK-Cu is the copper-binding tripeptide studied for collagen and skin repair

These are the main peptides in repair research. Each covers a different step, from blood vessel growth and cell movement to calming inflammation and rebuilding the skin matrix. See them all on our healing and recovery peptides page.

How KPV 10mg is tested

KPV 10mg is made in the USA, and every batch goes to an independent U.S. laboratory before it’s sold. The lab confirms identity, measures the content and checks purity by HPLC. Our standard is 99% or higher.

You don’t have to take our word for it. The certificate of analysis for the current batch is in the image gallery at the top of this page, next to the product photo, and it shows the test date and the results.

Batches are also screened for endotoxins, heavy metals and sterility. Those contaminant checks matter as much as purity for cell work, where a small amount of endotoxin can skew results.

KPV 10mg reconstitution and concentration

Concentration is the amount in the vial divided by the volume of water you add. With 10mg of powder in this vial:

  • 1mL of bacteriostatic water gives 10mg/mL
  • 2mL of bacteriostatic water gives 5mg/mL
  • 3mL of bacteriostatic water gives 3.33mg/mL

Choose the volume that suits your measurements. Mark the vial with the concentration and date so nobody has to guess later. The vial itself holds 3mL, so that’s the upper limit.

Most labs use sterile bacteriostatic water; we sell it in 10mL and 30mL vials. Warm the sealed vial to room temperature, add the water slowly along the glass wall and swirl gently until it’s clear. Never shake it.

KPV 10mg storage and shelf life

Store sealed vials of KPV 10mg in the freezer (-20°C) or the fridge (2 to 8°C), out of direct light. Mixed solution goes back in the fridge and should be used within about 28 days.

A 6 vial container keeps open and sealed vials upright and apart, which makes the fridge a lot easier to manage. For a bigger collection, the Big Everything Box holds vials and supplies in one latching case.
