Description

Our GLP1-S 10mg vial holds 10mg of lyophilized GLP1-S (semaglutide), a GLP-1 receptor agonist, made and tested in the USA. It’s intended for lab research only.

What is GLP1-S (semaglutide)?

Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist developed by Novo Nordisk. A fatty acid chain lets it bind albumin, which gives it a half-life of about a week.

It’s approved as Ozempic and Rybelsus for type 2 diabetes and as Wegovy for weight management.

GLP1-S mechanism of action

GLP-1 is a gut hormone released after a meal. It tells the pancreas to release insulin, but only when blood sugar is high, and it slows how fast the stomach empties. Receptors in the hypothalamus pick it up too, which is where its effect on appetite comes from.

Natural GLP-1 is broken down by the enzyme DPP-4 within a couple of minutes. Semaglutide swaps one amino acid to resist DPP-4 and carries a fatty acid that binds albumin in the blood. Together those changes stretch its half-life to about a week, which is why it’s studied as a once-weekly compound.

GLP1-S compared with similar compounds

GLP1-S 10mg is easier to place once you see it next to the compounds it’s usually compared with. GLP1-S acts on the GLP-1 receptor only and lasts about a week, the most studied compound in the group. The others:

  • GLP2-T adds GIP receptor activity to GLP-1, a dual agonist with larger weight effects than semaglutide in trials
  • GLP3-R hits GLP-1, GIP and glucagon receptors, the triple agonist with the biggest phase 2 numbers so far
  • Cagrilintide works through amylin receptors instead of incretins, often studied next to or with semaglutide

The main difference between these compounds is which receptors they hit. Pick the one that matches the receptor question in your study, and use the others as comparisons. See them all on our GLP-1 peptides page.

Reconstituting GLP1-S 10mg

The amount of liquid you add sets the concentration. For a vial holding 10mg:

  • 1mL of bacteriostatic water gives 10mg/mL
  • 2mL of bacteriostatic water gives 5mg/mL
  • 3mL of bacteriostatic water gives 3.33mg/mL

Go with whichever number is easiest to work with in your protocol, and label the vial with the concentration and the date you mixed it.

Most labs use sterile bacteriostatic water; we sell it in 10mL and 30mL vials. Warm the sealed vial to room temperature, add the water slowly along the glass wall and swirl gently until it’s clear. Never shake it.

GLP1-S 10mg storage and shelf life

Freeze-dried GLP1-S 10mg handles room temperature fine during shipping, but for anything longer keep it in a freezer at -20°C, away from light. Once mixed, keep it in the fridge at 2 to 8°C and use it within about four weeks.

A 6 vial container keeps open and sealed vials upright and apart, which makes the fridge a lot easier to manage. For a bigger collection, the Big Everything Box holds vials and supplies in one latching case.

GLP1-S 10mg purity and lab testing

GLP1-S 10mg is made in the USA, and every batch goes to an independent U.S. laboratory before it’s sold. The lab confirms identity, measures the content and checks purity by HPLC. Our standard is 99% or higher.

Scroll through the photos at the top of the page and you’ll find the current batch’s certificate of analysis. We post the actual report, so you can check the figures yourself.

On top of purity, each batch is screened for endotoxins, heavy metals and sterility. For cell culture work that screen is often the more important number.

GLP1-S sizes compared

  • GLP1-S 5mg: $100.00, about $20.00 per mg
  • GLP1-S 10mg (this page): $146.00, about $14.60 per mg

GLP1-S 10mg is one of the larger sizes, and bigger vials cost less per milligram. It suits longer studies where you’d otherwise reorder.
