What are peptide bioregulators?

Peptide bioregulators come out of Vladimir Khavinson’s program at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. The idea is that very short peptides can enter the cell nucleus and change gene activity in a particular tissue, so each sequence is matched to an organ.

Pinealon (Glu-Asp-Arg) is linked to the brain, Cartalax (Ala-Glu-Asp) to cartilage, Bronchogen to the lungs, Prostamax to the prostate, Pancragen to the pancreas, Cardiogen to the heart and Crystagen to the immune system. Most of the evidence comes from the same institute, so independent work is limited.
