Description
Cartalax 20mg from Certified Peptides is 20mg of Cartalax in a sealed glass vial. Cartalax is a tripeptide bioregulator. It’s sold for laboratory research only.
What is Cartalax?
Cartalax is the tripeptide Ala-Glu-Asp, one of the short peptides linked in Khavinson’s program to cartilage and connective tissue. Its CAS number is 205640-90-0.
It comes from the bioregulator program led by Vladimir Khavinson at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology, which proposed that very short peptides can bind DNA and switch particular genes on or off in specific tissues.
How Cartalax works
Khavinson’s group proposes that short peptides like this one enter the cell nucleus and bind specific DNA sequences, changing how tightly the chromatin is packed in cartilage and connective tissue cells. Looser chromatin lets nearby genes switch on.
That model is still debated. What the published papers actually report is a change in gene and protein expression in cultured cells, and the mechanism behind it hasn’t been confirmed by independent labs.

Cartalax research
Published work on it comes almost entirely from Khavinson’s group and other Russian labs, mostly cell culture studies of gene expression in cartilage and fibroblast cells, plus some rodent work.
Independent replication outside Russia is limited, so it’s best treated as an early-stage research peptide.

How Cartalax 20mg is tested
Cartalax 20mg is made in the USA, and every batch goes to an independent U.S. laboratory before it’s sold. The lab confirms identity, measures the content and checks purity by HPLC. Our standard is 99% or higher.
The certificate of analysis for the batch in stock is posted in the product gallery above. Click through the images and you’ll see the lab report with its date and numbers.
On top of purity, each batch is screened for endotoxins, heavy metals and sterility. For cell culture work that screen is often the more important number.
Reconstituting Cartalax 20mg
Here’s the math for 20mg of powder:
- 1mL of bacteriostatic water gives 20mg/mL
- 2mL of bacteriostatic water gives 10mg/mL
- 3mL of bacteriostatic water gives 6.67mg/mL
Go with whichever number is easiest to work with in your protocol, and label the vial with the concentration and the date you mixed it. The vial itself holds 3mL, so that’s the upper limit.
Use sterile bacteriostatic water, like our 10mL bacteriostatic water. Let the vial reach room temperature, run the water slowly down the inside of the glass, then roll the vial gently until the powder dissolves. Don’t shake it. Shaking can shear peptide chains.
Cartalax 20mg storage and shelf life
Store sealed vials of Cartalax 20mg in the freezer (-20°C) or the fridge (2 to 8°C), out of direct light. Mixed solution goes back in the fridge and should be used within about 28 days.
A 6 vial container keeps open and sealed vials upright and apart, which makes the fridge a lot easier to manage. For a bigger collection, the Big Everything Box holds vials and supplies in one latching case.
Ordering Cartalax 20mg for a full study
Work out the total amount before you order. Add up what each arm of the study uses across every time point, then divide by 20mg. Round up by one vial so a spoiled sample or a repeat run doesn’t stall the project.
Only reconstitute what you’ll use in the next few weeks. Sealed vials stay stable in the freezer, while a mixed vial should be finished within about 28 days.
If you order more than one vial, check that the batch numbers match before you start. Running a whole study on one batch removes one variable.
