Description
Semax 10mg is a 10mg vial of Semax, an ACTH(4-10) analog peptide, made in the USA and supplied as freeze-dried powder. It’s for in-vitro and lab research only.
About Semax
Semax is a seven-amino-acid peptide (Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro) based on a fragment of ACTH, with a Pro-Gly-Pro tail added for stability. It was developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics in Moscow.
It’s registered in Russia and used there as a nasal drop.
How Semax acts in the lab
Semax is based on ACTH(4-10), a piece of the stress hormone ACTH that affects the brain but not the adrenal glands. The Pro-Gly-Pro tail slows its breakdown.
In rats it raised BDNF, a growth factor that supports neuron survival and learning, and changed dopamine and serotonin activity. It’s usually studied as an intranasal compound.

Published Semax studies
Dolotov and colleagues reported that Semax raised BDNF and its receptor TrkB in rat hippocampus.
Russian clinical studies looked at stroke recovery.
The primary literature is on PubMed. Here’s a search for Semax studies to start from.
Semax compared with similar compounds
Labs choosing Semax 10mg usually weigh it against a few close relatives. Semax is built on a fragment of ACTH and linked to BDNF in rodent studies, while:
- Selank is built on tuftsin and studied for anxiety through the GABA system
- DSIP is a nine-amino-acid peptide first isolated from rabbits in deep sleep
These three are short neuropeptides from the same era of Russian and European research. They’re studied for focus, anxiety and sleep, respectively. See them all on our nootropic peptides page.
Lab-tested Semax 10mg
Semax 10mg is made in the USA, and every batch goes to an independent U.S. laboratory before it’s sold. The lab confirms identity, measures the content and checks purity by HPLC. Our standard is 99% or higher.
Scroll through the photos at the top of the page and you’ll find the current batch’s certificate of analysis. We post the actual report, so you can check the figures yourself.
Batches are also screened for endotoxins, heavy metals and sterility. Those contaminant checks matter as much as purity for cell work, where a small amount of endotoxin can skew results.
Reconstituting Semax 10mg
Concentration is the amount in the vial divided by the volume of water you add. With 10mg of powder in this vial:
- 1mL of bacteriostatic water gives 10mg/mL
- 2mL of bacteriostatic water gives 5mg/mL
- 3mL of bacteriostatic water gives 3.33mg/mL
Go with whichever number is easiest to work with in your protocol, and label the vial with the concentration and the date you mixed it. The vial itself holds 3mL, so that’s the upper limit.
Use sterile bacteriostatic water, like our 10mL bacteriostatic water. Let the vial reach room temperature, run the water slowly down the inside of the glass, then roll the vial gently until the powder dissolves. Don’t shake it. Shaking can shear peptide chains.
Storing Semax 10mg
The dry powder keeps best cold. A freezer at -20°C is ideal for long-term storage, and a fridge works for a few weeks. After reconstitution, store it in the fridge and finish it within roughly four weeks.
Vials are small and easy to knock over or misplace. Our 6 vial and 10 vial containers keep a whole study’s worth together.
How many Semax 10mg vials do you need?
Start from the protocol. Total the amount every arm needs from the first time point to the last, divide by the 10mg in a vial and add a spare. It’s cheaper to order once than to wait on a second shipment halfway through.
Mix one vial at a time and keep the rest sealed in the freezer. Dry powder keeps far longer than solution, so there’s no reason to reconstitute everything at the start.
If you order more than one vial, check that the batch numbers match before you start. Running a whole study on one batch removes one variable.

Semax 10mg questions
How much is in the Semax 10mg vial?
10mg of freeze-dried powder. The amount is printed on the label.
Is there a certificate of analysis for Semax 10mg?
Yes. The current batch’s COA is in the image gallery on this page.
What do I mix Semax 10mg with?
Sterile bacteriostatic water is the usual choice. The reconstitution section above shows the concentration for each volume.
How should I store it?
Keep sealed vials in the freezer for long-term storage or the fridge for a few weeks. Once mixed, refrigerate and use within about 28 days.
Can Semax be used in people or animals?
No. It’s sold for laboratory research only and isn’t approved for human or veterinary use.
