Description

Our Snap-8 10mg vial holds 10mg of lyophilized Snap-8, a cosmetic octapeptide, made and tested in the USA. It’s for in-vitro and lab research only.

Snap-8 at a glance

SNAP-8 (acetyl octapeptide-3) is an eight-amino-acid peptide that extends argireline by two amino acids. Like argireline, it mimics the end of SNAP-25, a protein needed to release acetylcholine at nerve endings.

It’s used in cosmetic research on expression lines.

How Snap-8 acts in the lab

SNAP-8 works the same way as argireline: it mimics the N-terminal end of SNAP-25 and competes for a spot in the SNARE complex that releases acetylcholine.

The two extra amino acids are meant to make that competition more effective. Less acetylcholine release means weaker muscle contraction in the models used.

Published Snap-8 studies

The manufacturer reports reduced wrinkle depth in small volunteer studies and stronger activity than argireline in cell assays.

How Snap-8 compares

Snap-8 10mg is easier to place once you see it next to the compounds it’s usually compared with. Snap-8 is an eight-amino-acid cosmetic peptide studied for expression lines. The others:

  • GHK-Cu is the copper-binding tripeptide studied for collagen and skin repair
  • Melanotan II is a cyclic alpha-MSH analog that drives melanin production
  • Glutathione is the cell’s main antioxidant tripeptide

These cover the three main lines of skin research: repair and collagen, expression lines and pigmentation. See them all on our skin and tanning peptides page.

Lab-tested Snap-8 10mg

We only sell U.S.-made products, and Snap-8 10mg is no exception. Each batch is tested by an outside U.S. lab for identity, content and purity, with a 99%+ HPLC purity standard.

The certificate of analysis for the batch in stock is posted in the product gallery above. Click through the images and you’ll see the lab report with its date and numbers.

Batches are also screened for endotoxins, heavy metals and sterility. Those contaminant checks matter as much as purity for cell work, where a small amount of endotoxin can skew results.

Reconstituting Snap-8 10mg

The amount of liquid you add sets the concentration. For a vial holding 10mg:

  • 1mL of bacteriostatic water gives 10mg/mL
  • 2mL of bacteriostatic water gives 5mg/mL
  • 3mL of bacteriostatic water gives 3.33mg/mL

Pick the volume that keeps your own calculations simple, then write the concentration and the mixing date on the label. The vial itself holds 3mL, so that’s the upper limit.

Most labs use sterile bacteriostatic water; we sell it in 10mL and 30mL vials. Warm the sealed vial to room temperature, add the water slowly along the glass wall and swirl gently until it’s clear. Never shake it.

How to store Snap-8 10mg

Store sealed vials of Snap-8 10mg in the freezer (-20°C) or the fridge (2 to 8°C), out of direct light. Mixed solution goes back in the fridge and should be used within about 28 days.

Vials are small and easy to knock over or misplace. Our 6 vial and 10 vial containers keep a whole study’s worth together.

Planning a study with Snap-8 10mg

Start from the protocol. Total the amount every arm needs from the first time point to the last, divide by the 10mg in a vial and add a spare. It’s cheaper to order once than to wait on a second shipment halfway through.

Only reconstitute what you’ll use in the next few weeks. Sealed vials stay stable in the freezer, while a mixed vial should be finished within about 28 days.

If you order more than one vial, check that the batch numbers match before you start. Running a whole study on one batch removes one variable.
