Description
Certified Peptides sells AHK-Cu raw powder as a full gram of AHK-Cu, the bulk format for labs making their own test batches. It isn’t for human or veterinary use.
AHK-Cu is used in hair care formulation research, mostly scalp serums and leave-in tonics built around the hair follicle work.
What is AHK-Cu?
AHK-Cu is the copper(II) complex of the tripeptide alanine, histidine and lysine. It’s a close cousin of GHK-Cu, with alanine in place of glycine.
That one change shifts where it’s most studied. GHK-Cu is mostly a skin peptide; AHK-Cu is mostly studied for hair follicles.
How AHK-Cu works
Like GHK-Cu, AHK-Cu holds a copper ion and can deliver it to cells. Copper peptides influence growth factor signaling and the cells that build connective tissue.
In hair follicle culture work, AHK-Cu supported the dermal papilla cells that control the hair growth cycle, and was reported to reduce programmed cell death in them.
AHK-Cu research
The best known work is a 2007 cell study showing that AHK-Cu helped dermal papilla cells, the cells at the base of a hair follicle, grow and survive in culture. It’s since been used in hair and scalp cosmetic formulas.
Published data is small and almost all in vitro. It isn’t a drug.

Raw AHK-Cu vs vials
At $68.00 for 1,000mg, AHK-Cu raw powder works out to about $0.07 per mg. Buying in gram amounts is the cheapest way to get enough material for formulation runs.
Raw powder also lets you set your own concentration and choose your own base, whether that’s water, a serum or a cream. A pre-filled vial fixes those choices for you.
Weighing and dissolving AHK-Cu raw powder
Weigh it on an analytical balance in a dry room. Fine peptide powders pick up moisture and static fast, so open the container only for as long as you need, and close it straight away. GHK-Cu and AHK-Cu are blue, a color that comes from the bound copper, and they dissolve readily in water.
Work out your target concentration before you weigh anything. For example, 10mg in 10mL of water gives 1mg/mL, which is 0.1%. Most cosmetic formulas use peptides well below 1%.
AHK-Cu raw powder storage
Keep the powder sealed in the freezer at -20°C, away from light and moisture, with a desiccant if you have one. Let the container warm to room temperature before opening it so no condensation forms on the powder.

Lab-tested AHK-Cu raw powder
AHK-Cu raw powder is made in the USA, and every batch goes to an independent U.S. laboratory before it’s sold. The lab confirms identity, measures the content and checks purity by HPLC. Our standard is 99% or higher.
Scroll through the photos at the top of the page and you’ll find the current batch’s certificate of analysis. We post the actual report, so you can check the figures yourself.
Batches are also screened for endotoxins, heavy metals and sterility. Those contaminant checks matter as much as purity for cell work, where a small amount of endotoxin can skew results.
