Description
DSIP 5mg is a 5mg vial of DSIP, a neuropeptide, made in the USA and supplied as freeze-dried powder. It’s for in-vitro and lab research only.
What is DSIP?
Delta sleep-inducing peptide (DSIP) is a nine-amino-acid peptide first isolated from rabbit blood in 1977 by Schoenenberger and Monnier. It was named for its effect on slow-wave sleep in rabbits.
Its natural role is still unclear.
DSIP mechanism of action
DSIP was found while looking for compounds that drive deep sleep. Researchers named it for the delta waves of slow-wave sleep it seemed to boost in rabbits.
Later work suggested its effects are broader and less specific: it affects stress hormone release, body temperature and pain signaling. No receptor has been identified, which is part of why it’s still an open research question.

DSIP research
Small human studies in the 1980s looked at sleep and withdrawal, with mixed results.
Animal studies report effects on stress hormones and body temperature.
The primary literature is on PubMed. Here’s a search for DSIP studies to start from.
DSIP 5mg vs related compounds
Here’s how DSIP 5mg fits among related compounds. DSIP is a nine-amino-acid peptide first isolated from rabbits in deep sleep. By comparison:
- Semax is built on a fragment of ACTH and linked to BDNF in rodent studies
- Selank is built on tuftsin and studied for anxiety through the GABA system
These three are short neuropeptides from the same era of Russian and European research. They’re studied for focus, anxiety and sleep, respectively. See them all on our nootropic peptides page.
Lab-tested DSIP 5mg
DSIP 5mg is made in the USA, and every batch goes to an independent U.S. laboratory before it’s sold. The lab confirms identity, measures the content and checks purity by HPLC. Our standard is 99% or higher.
The certificate of analysis for the batch in stock is posted in the product gallery above. Click through the images and you’ll see the lab report with its date and numbers.
Batches are also screened for endotoxins, heavy metals and sterility. Those contaminant checks matter as much as purity for cell work, where a small amount of endotoxin can skew results.
DSIP 5mg reconstitution and concentration
The amount of liquid you add sets the concentration. For a vial holding 5mg:
- 1mL of bacteriostatic water gives 5mg/mL
- 2mL of bacteriostatic water gives 2.5mg/mL
- 3mL of bacteriostatic water gives 1.67mg/mL
Go with whichever number is easiest to work with in your protocol, and label the vial with the concentration and the date you mixed it. The vial itself holds 3mL, so that’s the upper limit.
Most labs use sterile bacteriostatic water; we sell it in 10mL and 30mL vials. Warm the sealed vial to room temperature, add the water slowly along the glass wall and swirl gently until it’s clear. Never shake it.
Storing DSIP 5mg
Freeze-dried DSIP 5mg handles room temperature fine during shipping, but for anything longer keep it in a freezer at -20°C, away from light. Once mixed, keep it in the fridge at 2 to 8°C and use it within about four weeks.
If you keep several vials going at once, our 10 vial container keeps them upright and together on a fridge shelf, and spare 3mL vial caps protect the stoppers once the seals are off.
Ordering DSIP 5mg for a full study
Work out the total amount before you order. Add up what each arm of the study uses across every time point, then divide by 5mg. Round up by one vial so a spoiled sample or a repeat run doesn’t stall the project.
Only reconstitute what you’ll use in the next few weeks. Sealed vials stay stable in the freezer, while a mixed vial should be finished within about 28 days.
If you order more than one vial, check that the batch numbers match before you start. Running a whole study on one batch removes one variable.
