Description
5-Amino-1MQ 50mg from Certified Peptides is 50mg of 5-Amino-1MQ in a sealed glass vial. 5-Amino-1MQ is an NNMT inhibitor. It’s sold for laboratory research only.
What is 5-Amino-1MQ?
5-Amino-1MQ is a small quinolinium molecule that inhibits nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT), an enzyme highly expressed in fat tissue.
It’s sold as the iodide salt.
5-Amino-1MQ mechanism of action
NNMT moves a methyl group onto nicotinamide, a form of vitamin B3. Fat cells make a lot of it. Blocking it leaves more nicotinamide available for NAD+ production and changes the cell’s methyl balance.
5-Amino-1MQ is a small, membrane-permeable NNMT inhibitor. In mouse fat cells it raised NAD+ and reduced fat storage, which is why it’s studied in obesity and aging models.

Published 5-Amino-1MQ studies
Neelakantan and colleagues reported in 2018 that it reduced fat mass and body weight in obese mice.
Later work looked at muscle stem cells in aged mice.

How 5-Amino-1MQ compares
Here’s how 5-Amino-1MQ 50mg fits among related compounds. 5-Amino-1MQ is a small molecule that blocks the enzyme NNMT inside fat cells. By comparison:
- AOD-9604 is hGH fragment 177-191 with an extra tyrosine, studied for fat breakdown without raising IGF-1
- HGH Fragment 176-191 is the 16-residue C-terminal end of growth hormone, the parent of AOD-9604
- MOTS-c is a 16-amino-acid peptide coded in mitochondrial DNA, studied for glucose use in muscle
These four are studied for fat metabolism but act in very different places: the growth hormone fragments on fat tissue from outside, 5-Amino-1MQ and MOTS-c from inside the cell. See them all on our weight loss peptides page.
Lab-tested 5-Amino-1MQ 50mg
5-Amino-1MQ 50mg is made in the USA, and every batch goes to an independent U.S. laboratory before it’s sold. The lab confirms identity, measures the content and checks purity by HPLC. Our standard is 99% or higher.
The certificate of analysis for the batch in stock is posted in the product gallery above. Click through the images and you’ll see the lab report with its date and numbers.
Purity isn’t the whole story, so batches are screened for endotoxins, heavy metals and sterility too. Write the batch number from the label into your notes so you can match results to the paperwork later.
Reconstituting 5-Amino-1MQ 50mg
Concentration is the amount in the vial divided by the volume of water you add. With 50mg of powder in this vial:
- 2mL of bacteriostatic water gives 25mg/mL
- 3mL of bacteriostatic water gives 16.67mg/mL
Pick the volume that keeps your own calculations simple, then write the concentration and the mixing date on the label. The vial itself holds 3mL, so that’s the upper limit.
Most labs use sterile bacteriostatic water; we sell it in 10mL and 30mL vials. Warm the sealed vial to room temperature, add the water slowly along the glass wall and swirl gently until it’s clear. Never shake it.
How to store 5-Amino-1MQ 50mg
The dry powder keeps best cold. A freezer at -20°C is ideal for long-term storage, and a fridge works for a few weeks. After reconstitution, store it in the fridge and finish it within roughly four weeks.
Vials are small and easy to knock over or misplace. Our 6 vial and 10 vial containers keep a whole study’s worth together.
Choosing a 5-Amino-1MQ strength
- 5-Amino-1MQ 10mg: $59.00, about $5.90 per mg
- 5-Amino-1MQ 50mg (this page): $160.00, about $3.20 per mg
5-Amino-1MQ 50mg is one of the larger sizes, and bigger vials cost less per milligram. It suits longer studies where you’d otherwise reorder.
How many 5-Amino-1MQ 50mg vials do you need?
Work out the total amount before you order. Add up what each arm of the study uses across every time point, then divide by 50mg. Round up by one vial so a spoiled sample or a repeat run doesn’t stall the project.
Only reconstitute what you’ll use in the next few weeks. Sealed vials stay stable in the freezer, while a mixed vial should be finished within about 28 days.
If you order more than one vial, check that the batch numbers match before you start. Running a whole study on one batch removes one variable.
