Description
VIP 10mg is a 10mg vial of VIP, a neuropeptide, made in the USA and supplied as freeze-dried powder. It’s sold for laboratory research only.
What is VIP?
Vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) is a 28-amino-acid neuropeptide found in the gut, brain and immune system. It relaxes smooth muscle, widens blood vessels and has anti-inflammatory effects.
It belongs to the glucagon/secretin family.
VIP mechanism of action
VIP works through two receptors, VPAC1 and VPAC2, which raise cyclic AMP inside cells. In smooth muscle that means relaxation, so blood vessels widen and the gut and airways loosen.
On immune cells, VIP turns down inflammatory cytokines like TNF-alpha and IL-6 and pushes T cells toward a regulatory profile. That’s the basis for its study in arthritis, lung and gut inflammation.

Published VIP studies
VIP was first isolated by Said and Mutt in 1970. Delgado and colleagues later reported it reduced inflammation in mouse arthritis models.
An inhaled form, aviptadil, has been tested in lung disease.

How VIP 10mg is tested
Every batch of VIP 10mg is made in the USA and checked by an independent U.S. lab for three things: that it’s the right compound, that the amount matches the label and that purity is 99% or better by HPLC.
The certificate of analysis for the batch in stock is posted in the product gallery above. Click through the images and you’ll see the lab report with its date and numbers.
On top of purity, each batch is screened for endotoxins, heavy metals and sterility. For cell culture work that screen is often the more important number.
How to reconstitute VIP 10mg
Concentration is the amount in the vial divided by the volume of water you add. With 10mg of powder in this vial:
- 1mL of bacteriostatic water gives 10mg/mL
- 2mL of bacteriostatic water gives 5mg/mL
- 3mL of bacteriostatic water gives 3.33mg/mL
Pick the volume that keeps your own calculations simple, then write the concentration and the mixing date on the label. The vial itself holds 3mL, so that’s the upper limit.
Most labs use sterile bacteriostatic water; we sell it in 10mL and 30mL vials. Warm the sealed vial to room temperature, add the water slowly along the glass wall and swirl gently until it’s clear. Never shake it.
How to store VIP 10mg
The dry powder keeps best cold. A freezer at -20°C is ideal for long-term storage, and a fridge works for a few weeks. After reconstitution, store it in the fridge and finish it within roughly four weeks.
A 6 vial container keeps open and sealed vials upright and apart, which makes the fridge a lot easier to manage. For a bigger collection, the Big Everything Box holds vials and supplies in one latching case.
How many VIP 10mg vials do you need?
Work out the total amount before you order. Add up what each arm of the study uses across every time point, then divide by 10mg. Round up by one vial so a spoiled sample or a repeat run doesn’t stall the project.
Only reconstitute what you’ll use in the next few weeks. Sealed vials stay stable in the freezer, while a mixed vial should be finished within about 28 days.
Keep vials from one batch together in a study where you can. The batch number on the label ties each result back to its certificate of analysis.

Where is it made?
In the USA. We only sell U.S.-made research products, and each batch is tested by a U.S. lab.
Is there a certificate of analysis for VIP 10mg?
Yes. The current batch’s COA is in the image gallery on this page.
What do I mix VIP 10mg with?
Sterile bacteriostatic water is the usual choice. The reconstitution section above shows the concentration for each volume.
How should I store it?
Keep sealed vials in the freezer for long-term storage or the fridge for a few weeks. Once mixed, refrigerate and use within about 28 days.
