What is Certified Peptides TB-500?

TB-500 here means thymosin beta-4, a 43-amino-acid protein found in nearly every cell in the body, with high levels in platelets and white blood cells. Inside the cell it binds actin, the protein cells use to change shape and move.

The TB-500 we sell is the full-length 43-residue sequence, acetylated at the N-terminus like the natural protein. It isn’t an approved medicine, and it’s on the WADA prohibited list.

The TB-500 10mg vial is the single-compound format. The BPC-157 TB-500 blend is the usual pairing for repair models, and GLOW and KLOW add GHK-Cu. The BPC-157 TB-500 capsules hold 500mcg of each.

How TB-500 works

Thymosin beta-4’s main job is holding on to G-actin, the single building blocks of the cell’s internal scaffolding. By controlling how much actin is free to polymerize, it controls how cells move and change shape.

Cell movement is the first step in repair, which is the link to the wound healing and blood vessel studies. The actin-binding work is done by a short stretch of the chain, LKKTETQ, at positions 17 to 23.

TB-500 research

Goldstein and colleagues reviewed thymosin beta-4’s role in wound repair in 2012, covering faster closure of skin wounds and new blood vessel growth in animal models. Bock-Marquette and colleagues reported in Nature (2004) that thymosin beta-4 improved heart cell survival after injury in mice. For the papers, start with this PubMed search for thymosin beta-4.

How Certified Peptides TB-500 is tested

Every batch is made in the USA and tested by an independent U.S. lab: identity by mass spectrometry, content, and purity by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to a 99%+ standard, plus endotoxin, heavy metal and sterility screens. On most products the report for the batch in stock is in the photo gallery.

Reconstituting and storing TB-500

Mix with bacteriostatic water, adding it slowly down the glass and rolling the vial until it’s clear. A 10mg vial with 2mL gives 5mg/mL. Keep sealed vials in the freezer, and mixed vials in the fridge for up to about four weeks.
