MK-777 in brief
MK-777, also called acetamoren, is N-acetyl ibutamoren: the non-peptide ghrelin mimic MK-677 with an acetyl group added.
Almost no peer-reviewed research exists on the acetylated form itself. What’s known comes from its parent compound, so treat it as a newer research chemical.
Like MK-677, it’s designed to act on the ghrelin receptor, GHS-R1a, which triggers growth hormone release from the pituitary.
The acetyl group changes the molecule’s polarity, and the idea is that it changes how the compound is absorbed and broken down. That hasn’t been confirmed in published studies.

The research behind it belongs to MK-677 (ibutamoren). Merck’s studies in the 1990s showed that the parent compound raises GH and IGF-1 in an oral, once-daily form.
For a study using MK-777, running MK-677 as a reference arm is the obvious way to see whether the acetyl group changes anything.
