Description
Mito blend 120mg puts 50mg NAD+, 50mg 5-Amino-1MQ and 20mg MOTS-c into one sealed vial, so you reconstitute once instead of three times. It’s made in the USA and sold for laboratory research only.
Inside the Mito blend 120mg
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme in every living cell. It carries electrons in energy metabolism and is a substrate for sirtuins and PARPs.
5-Amino-1MQ is a small quinolinium molecule that inhibits nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT), an enzyme highly expressed in fat tissue.
MOTS-c is a 16-amino-acid peptide encoded in the mitochondrial 12S rRNA gene. It was described in 2015 by Pinchas Cohen’s group at USC.
All three compounds touch mitochondrial energy: NAD+ is the coenzyme itself, 5-Amino-1MQ blocks the enzyme NNMT that uses up the NAD+ precursor pool, and MOTS-c is a peptide coded in mitochondrial DNA.
The vial holds 50mg NAD+, 50mg 5-Amino-1MQ and 20mg MOTS-c, which is the 120mg on the label. Because everything is freeze-dried together, the ratio can’t drift the way it can when you mix separate vials. One reconstitution, one label, the same proportions in every draw.
Mechanisms behind the Mito blend 120mg
NAD+ shuttles electrons in glycolysis, the Krebs cycle and the mitochondrial chain, so it’s needed to turn food into ATP. It’s also used up by sirtuins, which regulate gene expression, and by PARPs, which repair DNA.
NNMT moves a methyl group onto nicotinamide, a form of vitamin B3. Fat cells make a lot of it. Blocking it leaves more nicotinamide available for NAD+ production and changes the cell’s methyl balance.
Most proteins are coded in the cell nucleus. MOTS-c is one of a handful of peptides coded in mitochondrial DNA instead. Its main target looks like the folate cycle, which feeds into AMPK activation and better glucose handling in muscle.

Mito blend research
Reviews by Imai and Guarente, and by Verdin, cover the link between falling NAD+ and aging.
Neelakantan and colleagues reported in 2018 that it reduced fat mass and body weight in obese mice.
Lee and colleagues reported in Cell Metabolism (2015) that MOTS-c prevented diet-induced obesity and insulin resistance in mice.
The primary literature is on PubMed. Here’s a search for NAD+, 5-Amino-1MQ and MOTS-c studies to start from.
Reconstituting Mito blend 120mg
Concentration is the amount in the vial divided by the volume of water you add. With 120mg of powder in this vial:
- 3mL of bacteriostatic water gives 40mg/mL
Go with whichever number is easiest to work with in your protocol, and label the vial with the concentration and the date you mixed it. The vial itself holds 3mL, so that’s the upper limit.
Use sterile bacteriostatic water, like our 10mL bacteriostatic water. Let the vial reach room temperature, run the water slowly down the inside of the glass, then roll the vial gently until the powder dissolves. Don’t shake it. Shaking only adds foam.
Mito blend 120mg storage and shelf life
The dry powder keeps best cold. A freezer at -20°C is ideal for long-term storage, and a fridge works for a few weeks. After reconstitution, store it in the fridge and finish it within roughly four weeks.
If you keep several vials going at once, our 10 vial container keeps them upright and together on a fridge shelf, and spare 3mL vial caps protect the stoppers once the seals are off.
How Mito blend 120mg is tested
Mito blend 120mg is made in the USA, and every batch goes to an independent U.S. laboratory before it’s sold. The lab confirms identity, measures the content and checks purity by HPLC. Our standard is 99% or higher.
The certificate of analysis for the batch in stock is posted in the product gallery above. Click through the images and you’ll see the lab report with its date and numbers.
Purity isn’t the whole story, so batches are screened for endotoxins, heavy metals and sterility too. Write the batch number from the label into your notes so you can match results to the paperwork later.
