Description
Certified Peptides sells Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 raw powder as a full gram of Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 (Argireline), the bulk format for labs making their own test batches. It isn’t for human or veterinary use.
Acetyl hexapeptide-8 is one of the most widely used cosmetic peptides in anti-wrinkle creams and serums, and formulation work starts from the raw powder.
About Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 (Argireline)
Argireline (acetyl hexapeptide-8, or -3) is a synthetic peptide based on the N-terminal end of SNAP-25. It interferes with the SNARE complex that releases acetylcholine.
It’s used in topical anti-wrinkle products.
Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 mechanism
Muscles contract when nerve endings release acetylcholine, and that release depends on a protein complex called SNARE. SNAP-25 is one of its parts.
Argireline copies the end of SNAP-25 and competes with it, so fewer SNARE complexes form and less acetylcholine is released. That’s the basis for its use in expression-line studies.
Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 research
Blanes-Mira and colleagues reported in 2002 that topical argireline reduced wrinkle depth in a small study.
Its skin penetration is debated.

Raw Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 vs vials
At $95.00 for 1,000mg, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 raw powder works out to about $0.10 per mg. Buying in gram amounts is the cheapest way to get enough material for formulation runs.
Raw powder also lets you set your own concentration and choose your own base, whether that’s water, a serum or a cream. A pre-filled vial fixes those choices for you.
Weighing and dissolving Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 raw powder
Weigh it on an analytical balance in a dry room. Fine peptide powders pick up moisture and static fast, so open the container only for as long as you need, and close it straight away. It dissolves readily in water.
Work out your target concentration before you weigh anything. For example, 10mg in 10mL of water gives 1mg/mL, which is 0.1%. Most cosmetic formulas use peptides well below 1%.
Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 raw powder storage
Keep the powder sealed in the freezer at -20°C, away from light and moisture, with a desiccant if you have one. Let the container warm to room temperature before opening it so no condensation forms on the powder.

How Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 raw powder is tested
We only sell U.S.-made products, and Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 raw powder is no exception. Each batch is tested by an outside U.S. lab for identity, content and purity, with a 99%+ HPLC purity standard.
You don’t have to take our word for it. The certificate of analysis for the current batch is in the image gallery at the top of this page, next to the product photo, and it shows the test date and the results.
On top of purity, each batch is screened for endotoxins, heavy metals and sterility. For cell culture work that screen is often the more important number.
